New Delhi. Pakistan team has once again disappointed in Asia Cup 2022. Babar Azam’s team was just one step away from the trophy. After which the news of disagreement in the team gained momentum. Not only this, after the final there were reports that Babar Azam had lashed out at Pakistan’s senior players. Meanwhile, the team’s star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi stood as a wall between Babar. But now Afridi has put a full stop to such news.
Before the final, after the defeat against Sri Lanka, there were reports of a split in the Pakistani team. According to Pakistani media, Babar Azam took a class of senior players in the dressing room. During which Shaheen Afridi intervened and Babar came forward. The captain did not like Shaheen Afridi’s interference and lashed out at Afridi. After which the rumors of rift between the two players became fierce. But now Shaheen Afridi has put an end to such rumors through a post on Instagram. He shared a photo with captain Babar Azam and wrote, ‘Family’ with a love sticker. Fans were seen giving different types of reactions on this photo full of love of both. One fan wrote in the comment, ‘Software updated successfully.’
How did the rift happen between Babur and Shaheen?
According to the report, Babar said, ‘Some players have started considering themselves as superstars. If you fail repeatedly, people will forget you. The World Cup is everyone’s last chance. Shaheen Afridi, standing in the way of Babar’s jab, said, ‘You should at least praise the players who did well.’ After which Babur took the heat and said, ‘I know who has done well and who has not.’
This is not the first time that a wall has been erected between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Before this, Lanka had defeated Pakistan many times. Last year in the T20 format Asia Cup, Sri Lanka won the title by defeating Pakistan in the final. But this time team India won the title by defeating Sri Lanka in the final.
