What made Gabbar angry with Salim-Javed?
Salim-Javed told the director – ‘If you are not satisfied with Amjad Khan’s acting, cast someone else in his place.’ But, Ramesh Sippy remained firm on his decision. When Amjad Khan came to know about the Salim-Javed incident, he was saddened. He thought he got me the role and then tried to get him out of the film. ‘Sholay’ proved to be a huge superhit film after its release, but Amjad Khan did not work with Salim-Javed again.
