New Delhi. West Indies legend Darren Bravo has announced his decision to stay away from international cricket. This decision is being seen as retirement. He gave this information through a social media post. He was out of the national team since last year. After which he decided to stay away from cricket. Darren Bravo was not selected in the squad for the recently announced ODI series against England. The last time he could play an ODI match was against India.
Darren Bravo wrote in a post on Instagram, “I have taken a lot of time to think about this and what my next step as a cricketer is. It is not easy for me to play international cricket with the same energy, passion, commitment and discipline at this time. Currently, different players are representing the country in all the three formats. There are about 40-45 players. Despite scoring runs, I am not in any team. I didn’t give up. I just decided to get away from it. All the best for the future.”

Let us tell you that Darren Bravo played his last match for West Indies in the year 2022, which was an ODI match against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium. After this he did not get an opportunity in any format. In the last match against India, he was dismissed for 19 runs in 30 balls. He has been out of the team ever since. He also played his last T20 in 2022. He last played Test in 2020.
Darren has played a total of 56 Tests, 122 ODIs and 26 T20Is for West Indies so far. During this period he has scored 3538, 3109 and 405 runs in all three formats respectively. He has scored 8 centuries in Tests and 4 centuries in ODIs. He also has a double century in Tests.
