Ahead of the special session, the all-party meeting, the opposition demanded a women’s reservation bill

Ahead of the 13th session of the 17th Lok Sabha, the central government called an all-party meeting. During the meeting, which was convened on Sunday, a day before a special session of Parliament, several regional parties, including the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), insisted on introducing the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament.

After the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi informed that an all-party meeting was held today. In which 51 leaders of 34 parties participated. The session is scheduled to start for five days. First of all, everyone paid tribute to the martyred soldiers in Kashmir. He said that four bills are listed in the agenda. A total of 8 bills are outstanding in some BACs. Many parties have expressed their views, but the government works on its own agenda.

He said that on the first day, the two houses will hold separate debates on 75 years of democracy in the old building. A joint program of both the Houses will be held in the Central Hall on 19th. The regular session will be held in the new building from the 20th.

Regarding the special session of Parliament, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said that we thought that a special session was going on, but now it seems that it is a regular session. The opposition is confused by the attitude of the government. We are deprived of certain things. Zero hour and the question session is over. This is not correct. Go to the new building, there should be discussions on caste enumeration, unemployment and inflation.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said the central government said the agenda would be announced later. Also, most of the opposition members have unanimously demanded that my suspension and that of Raghav Chadha be revoked.

NCP leader Prafull Patel said that there is talk of bringing four bills in this session. 50 percent of the country is women. We have suggested that the Women’s Reservation Bill be passed in this session. The session will be held on the 19th at the New Parliament House.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Deputy Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi represented the government in the all-party meeting.

BJD and BRS leaders said they would insist on the introduction and passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the five-day session.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, former Prime Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda, DMK MP Kanimozhi, TDP’s Ram Mohan Naidu, Trinamool Congress’s Derek O’Brien, Aam Aadmi Party’s Sanjay Singh, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, BRS leader K. Keshav Rao, YSR Congress Party’s V. Vijayasai Reddy, RJD’s Manoj Jha, JDU’s Anil Hegde and Samajwadi Party’s Ram Gopal Yadav participated in the meeting.
