Rohit Bhatt/Almora. Nowadays everyone loves to watch and listen Uttarakhandi and Garhwali songs. The dance steps of the Kumaoni and Garhwali industries have changed a lot over time. The credit goes to Ankit Kumar, a resident of Pithoragarh. Ankit has given a new look to Kumaoni and Garhwali songs with his choreography. Ankit has been working on Kumaoni and Garhwali songs for the past 3 years. He has choreographed more than 50 songs so far. Songs choreographed by Ankit have been viewed millions of times.
In an exclusive conversation with Local 18, Ankit said that it has been 3 years since he worked in the Kumaoni and Garhwali industries. But in these three years he has got a lot of love from people. Earlier he used to dance in Bollywood style but people said that he should do something new for his Kumaon culture. Ankit mixed his dance steps with Bollywood. He believes that he started this to show the outsiders something new.
Over time the problem went away
Ankit said that whenever a new song comes out, he is the first to get an offer to choreograph it and he tries to give 100 percent to it. He further said that new actors are coming in the industry. In the initial stage he also faced many problems but now slowly he knows which artist to dance and many artists are now slowly doing very well.
Got support from family
Ankit Kumar said that there has been a lot of support from the family. He was involved in sports and other activities from his childhood. His family members also like him a lot and his parents have told him to do better in whatever he does. He believes that children thrive only with the support of their parents.
Pink Sharara’s steps went viral
Ankit said that Gulabi Sharara song was choreographed by him. To whom people gave lots of love. Today everyone is following the steps of that song. People are also seen making reels in this song. He feels great that now everyone is following his dance steps. He believes that this is how he can advance his culture.
