Announcement of 4% DA after bonus, lakhs of employees will benefit

The Modi government has recently announced a 4% hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) of central employees. Now there is good news for lakhs of railway employees. The Railway Board has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of its employees by 4%. The Railway Board has increased the dearness allowance from 42% to 46%. The increased dearness allowance will be applicable from July 1, 2023. The employees will get the arrears from July till now along with dearness allowance in next month’s salary. The Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced a 78-day bonus for railway employees.

The Railway Board has written to the General Managers and Chief Administrative Officers of All India Railways and Manufacturing Units saying that it is with great pleasure that the dearness allowance admissible to railway employees has been decided to be increased from the existing 42% of the basic pay. has been reduced to 46%, with effect from July 1, 2023. This announcement by the Railway Board has given the Union Cabinet about Rs. 15,000 crore bonus came five days after it was approved, including a four per cent hike in DA for government employees.

Employee organizations have welcomed the decision
Railway Employees Union Diwali The announcement has already been welcomed. All India Railway Men’s Federation General Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra has said that since the employees were to get DA from July, it was the right of the employees to get it. I welcome the decision to announce its payment before Diwali. National Federation of Indian Railwaymen General Secretary M Raghavaiah said DA is paid based on Consumer Price Index and is not intended to affect (employees) due to inflation.
