India gave a crushing defeat to South Africa by 9 wickets.

New Delhi. The first match of the ODI series against South Africa (IND vs SA) saw the aggressive style of Team India. South Africa won the toss and decided to bat. As soon as the innings started, the Indian pacers pounced on the host team like a hungry lion. Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan combined to destroy the entire team. Together, the young bowlers pushed 9 batsmen into the pavilion. Due to which the South African team was bundled out for only 116 runs.

The hosts had 7 batsmen who could not even touch double figures. The bowling was so lethal that three batsmen of the African team lost their wickets for nil. Arshdeep Singh became the first fast bowler to take 5 wickets against South Africa at home. Along with this, Avesh Khan sent 4 batsmen to the pavilion. However, Falcao’s 33 saved the team’s honor and crossed the 100 mark. While, in reply Shreyas Iyer and debutant Sai Sudarshan showed their talent.

Sudarshan scored a fifty in the debut match

KL Rahul gave Sai Sudarshan a chance not only in the playing eleven but also as an opening batsman. Rituraj did not come to open Gaikwad. Shreyas Iyer came in to bat at number three and showed explosive style. Sai Sudarshan played a match winning innings of 55 runs in 43 balls with the help of 9 fours. At the other end, Shreyas Iyer also played a brilliant innings of 52 runs. Team India defeated South Africa by 8 wickets due to the brilliant innings of both the batsmen.

AUS vs PAK: Even a new captain could not change Pakistan’s fortunes, suffered a 15th straight defeat, crushing the hosts badly.

The second match of the ODI series will be do-or-die for the hosts. Both the teams will face each other on December 19. If Team India wins the second match too, they will clinch the series.
