Arvind Kejriwal has sent a complaint to the Vigilance Minister against the Delhi Chief Secretary

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sought a report from the Vigilance Minister regarding the complaint. Official sources gave this information. The complaint alleges that a relative of the person who received overcompensation for the land acquired for the road project had given employment to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar’s son.

Naresh Kumar did not immediately respond to the matter. Sources said the Delhi government received the complaint in October, which the chief minister forwarded to vigilance minister Atishi and sought a detailed report with facts on the subject. In 2018, the National Highways Authority of India acquired 19 acres of land in southwest Delhi’s Bamanoli village for the construction of the Dwarka Expressway, and the district administration initially fixed a compensation of Rs 41.52 crore for it.

Landowners challenged this compensation and finally in May this year South West Delhi District Magistrate Hemant Kumar increased it to Rs 353.79 crore. Later, the Ministry of Home Affairs suspended Kumar in this matter. Recently the Delhi High Court also rejected this compensation amount of Rs 353.79 crore.

The complainant has alleged that the Delhi Chief Secretary’s son works in a real estate company and is the son-in-law of the company’s director, Subhash Chand Kathuria, who owns the acquired land in Bamanoli village. The compensation amount was increased to Rs 353.79 crore on May 15, government officials said. Divisional Commissioner Ashwini Kumar raised the issue before the Chief Secretary on June 2.

He said that the Chief Secretary had directed the Divisional Commissioner to monitor the matter on a fortnightly basis and later the Vigilance Directorate was also asked to look into it. He said later, with the approval of Lt. Governor VK Saxena, a CBI probe and departmental action against the district magistrate was recommended to the Home Ministry on September 20.
