The US military also released a video showing the Chinese jet rapidly closing in on the B-52, passing in front and under the wing of the US jet. It said that the pilot of the Chinese jet caused the collision between the two planes. The US Indo-Pacific Command said, “We are concerned that this pilot did not know that his actions could have led to a major disaster.
Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Washington on Thursday on a three-day visit. He met US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and said the two countries should resume “deep and comprehensive” dialogue.
