For India, opener Shefali Verma scored 67 off 39 balls while Jemimah Rodrigues added an unbeaten 47 off 29 balls. Apart from these two, Richa Ghosh scored a quick 21 runs in 7 balls. Only 2 balls could be bowled in Malaysia’s innings and then rain started again, forcing the match to be abandoned. India is the number-1 team in Asia and their seeding was better than Malaysia, which is why they reached the semi-finals. The second quarter-final between Pakistan and Indonesia was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

India and Pakistan will not meet in the semi-finals of the Asian Games. If India win the quarter-final against Hong Kong on Friday, they will face Bangladesh in the first semi-final.
