India and Pakistan women’s teams in Asian Games semi-finals
The quarter final match between India and Pakistan was canceled due to rain.
New Delhi. Both India and Pakistan have reached the semifinals of women’s cricket at the Asian Games. The quarter final match of both the teams was washed away due to rain. India faced Malaysia in the first quarter-final while Pakistan faced Indonesia in the second quarter-final. Not a single ball could be bowled in this match due to rain. Both the semi-final matches will be played on 24 September i.e. Sunday. India may face Bangladesh in the first semi-final.
India’s rain-affected quarter-final match against Malaysia was played in 15 overs, with the Indian women’s cricket team batting first and scoring 173 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. For India, opener Shefali Verma scored 67 off 39 balls while Jemimah Rodrigues added an unbeaten 47 off 29 balls. Apart from these two, Richa Ghosh scored a quick 21 runs in 7 balls. Only 2 balls could be bowled in Malaysia’s innings and then rain started again, forcing the match to be abandoned. India is the number-1 team in Asia and their seeding was better than Malaysia, which is why they reached the semi-finals. The second quarter-final between Pakistan and Indonesia was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
There will be no clash between India and Pakistan in the semi-finals
India and Pakistan will not meet in the semi-finals of the Asian Games. If India win the quarter-final against Hong Kong on Friday, they will face Bangladesh in the first semi-final. There may be a clash between Bangladesh and India
Due to the ban, Harmanpreet Kaur will not be able to play in the semi-final match against Bangladesh. Smriti Mandhana will also play in this match. Harmanpreet Kaur has been banned for two matches for protesting the umpire’s decision and hitting the stumps with her bat during a match against Bangladesh in July this year. In such a situation, there can be a huge clash in the match between India and Bangladesh. Bangladesh beat the Indian women’s team in the series played at home. A total of limited overs matches were played between the two countries in the Bangladesh tour. In which Bangladesh won 2 matches and tied one and there was a lot of controversy between the two teams.
