Owaisi’s heavy attack on Himanta Sarma
The Assam CM said, “As soon as I realized the mistake, I removed the post immediately. I sincerely apologize if the removed post has hurt anyone.” Himant Sarma’s post, which created a political controversy, wrongly mentioned a specific caste. Referring to the Gita verse, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi hit out at Himanta Biswa Sarma, saying he was not fulfilling his oath to treat every Indian citizen equally. Owaisi said, “While holding a constitutional office, your oath is to treat every citizen equally. This reflects the unfortunate brutality the Muslims of Assam have faced in the last few years.”
Himanta Biswa Sarma also said in his apology letter that Assam is a picture of a casteless society and the mistranslation was a mistake.
