Australia vs Pakistan Test series under ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 has started. The first Test match of the three-match series between Australia and Pakistan is being played at the Perth Stadium. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first and made their intentions clear in the very first over. Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled the first over of the match and conceded 14 runs in the first over. It is the joint second costliest opening over in Test cricket after 2002. Sohag Ghazi scored 18 runs in the first over in the Test match played between West Indies and Bangladesh at Mirpur ground in 2012. Shaheen Afridi has now equaled Pakistan’s Naseem Shah.

Shaheen lost the opening over of this match against Australia by as many runs and has earned his place in this list of shame. Singles came off Shahin’s first three balls, then Usman Khawaja hit two consecutive fours and took three runs off the last ball. In this way, 14 runs were scored in this over. Usman Khawaja and David Warner put on 126 runs for the first wicket in the Perth Test against Pakistan. Usman Khawaja was dismissed for 41 runs off 98 balls.

Usman’s wicket went to Shaheen Afridi. Khawaja lost his wicket after being caught by wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed. David Warner is playing the last Test series of his career. He has already announced that he will bid farewell to Test cricket after this series. Warner’s Test record against Pakistan is equally great and he is batting in the same estimation in this match as well.
