New Delhi. In the World Cup (World Cup 2023), the Afghanistan team is proving to be a juggernaut by pulling off an upset. This team had stunned the opposition by defeating England earlier. With Pakistan facing Afghanistan, captain Babar Azam must have thought four times before going against this team. But what was expected happened, Pakistan team got caught in an upset of Afghanistan (PAK vs AFG) and history was made. Captain Babar Azam was seen recounting the mistakes of the team with tears in his throat after facing defeat from the neighboring country.
Afghanistan team matched Pakistan in every aspect, be it batting or bowling. The Afghan team gambled on Noor Ahmed and the young spinner took 3 wickets. However, Pakistan saw half-centuries from Abdullah Shafiq and Babar Azam. Due to which the team’s score reached 282 runs. In reply, Afghanistan’s openers made Pakistan sweat and their team won the match. On one hand, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 65 runs, on the other hand, Ibrahim Zadran played a brilliant innings of 87 runs. Due to this type of batting, Afghanistan won the match by 8 wickets. After which Babar Azam counted every mistake of his team.
Did not perform well in bowling – Babar Azam
Babar Azam said after the match, ‘This hurts us, our total score was good. We did not do well in bowling as we did not take wickets in the middle overs. If you are not good in even one section, you lose the game. We didn’t stop the boundary and gave away runs. We had to suffer the consequences. We started well bowling, we needed wickets in the middle overs but we couldn’t take any wickets.

Afghanistan has created history by defeating Pakistan in this match. Pakistan have never lost in the history of Afghanistan ODI before this. Apart from this, Afghanistan have made the biggest chase in the history of ODIs.
