Henry Nicholls accused of ball tampering

New Delhi. A complaint of ball tampering has been filed against New Zealand cricketer Henry Nicholls. He is accused of ball-tampering during a match in New Zealand’s domestic cricket championship, Plunkett Shield. Nicholls was representing the Canterbury team in this match against Auckland. According to reports, the incident took place at Hagley Oval where the Canterbury team had a match against Auckland. In this match, Nicholls made an important contribution to the team’s victory by scoring 120 and 30 not out in both innings respectively. Canterbury won this match by eight wickets.
In the match, during Auckland’s second innings, Nicholls was accused of ball tampering at the start of the 32nd, 33rd and 35th overs. In the video footage, Nicholls can be seen rubbing the ball on the rim of the helmet before the overs, which falls under the category of violation of the Laws of Cricket.
