Reshma was born on 1 January 1947 in Bikaner, Rajasthan. At the time of partition, she moved to Pakistan with her family. When the song ‘Lumbi Judai’ was composed for the film ‘Hero’, Subhash Ghai and Laxmikant Pyarelal asked Reshma to sing the song. Reshma understood the meaning of the song and sang from her heart.
