What is the charge against Mahua Moitra?

Mahua Moitra is accused of accepting bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in return for asking questions in Parliament to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Adani group. Nishikant Dubey wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on October 15 alleging that 50 of the 61 questions asked by Mahua Moitra in the Lok Sabha till recent days focused on the Adani group. This allegation has been made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. Nishikant also wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla regarding this. The letter demanded the immediate suspension of Mahua from Parliament.

Strict action may be recommended in the meeting

Meanwhile, businessman Darshan Hiranandani has admitted in his affidavit that he posted questions on Mahua Moitra’s parliamentary login. However, he did not respond to inquiries on the cash issue. Darshan Hiranandani has also claimed to have given Mahua a gift. Mahua Moitra denied the cash allegations for questioning but admitted to sharing her parliamentary login. The argument behind it was that members were not informed of any rules governing its use. Now the ethics committee meeting is to be held in this matter today.
