Chhath Puja 2023: The festival of Chhath (Chhath Puja 2023), the great festival of Lord Surya worship, is starting. The festival of Chhath is one of the great festivals of North-East India and is now celebrated with full faith and love in the country and across the world. In this festival which lasts for four days, the sixth Maiya is also worshiped along with Lord Bhaskar. On these four days, the festivals of Nahay Khaye, Gharani, Sandhya Arghya and Usha Arghya are celebrated. Devotees celebrating this festival worship Chatthi Maiya and Lord Surya through strict fasting and pray for the well-being, happiness, prosperity of their children and long life of the family. This time the Chhath festival is starting from November 18. Let’s find out when is the auspicious time to bathe, worship the setting and rising sun along with the house. According to Panchang this year Shasthi Thithi is starting from 9.18 am on November 18. This date will remain till 7.23 am on the next day i.e. November 19. Nahay Khai, the first day of Chhath Puja, is being celebrated on November 17. Gharana festival will be held on the next day i.e. 18th November. The third day of Chhath Puja will be on 19th November i.e. Saturday and on this day, offerings will be made to the setting sun. On the second day i.e. the fourth day, Sunday, the festival will conclude by offering arghya to the rising sun god.

An auspicious time for evening prayer

On the third day of the festival of Chhath Puja, Sandhya Arghya i.e. water is offered to the Sun God at dusk. Sandhya Arghya is scheduled for November 19 at 5.25 pm.

Auspicious time for Usha Arghya

Devotees will offer an arghya to the rising sun god, called Usha arghya, early in the morning on November 10 at sunrise. Sunrise time on this day is 6.47 am and during this time offerings will be made to Sun God.
