Respected Acharya sir, teachers and my dear friends
Happy Children’s Day to you all. Today the whole country is paying tribute to the first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru by remembering him. Today is 14th November and this day is celebrated as Children’s Day in the country. 14th November is the birthday of India’s greatest freedom fighter and creator of modern India, Pandit Nehru. Jawaharlal Nehru loved children very much. Children also called him Chacha Nehru. Hence, in his honour, every year 14th November i.e. his birth anniversary is celebrated as Children’s Day. Today we are all gathered here to celebrate Children’s Day.

Friends, Pandit Nehru used to say – ‘Today’s children will build tomorrow’s India. Children are the future of this country. Therefore, special attention should be paid to their education and welfare. The better we take care of the children, the better the nation will be built.

The organization of Children’s Day celebration shows the importance of children in building the future of the country. Children are the precious wealth of the nation and the hope of the future and tomorrow, so they should be given proper care and love.

After the independence of India, the government has made many schemes for the development of children, their education and health. But even today many children do not get their rights. Children’s Day cannot be fully meaningful until every child in our country gets his basic child rights. Child exploitation and child labor must be completely eradicated. No child should be deprived of education for financial reasons. All the schemes run for child welfare should reach the children. On the occasion of Children’s Day, we should all come together to spread awareness about child rights.

Apart from this, we all should also resolve to implement Chacha Nehru’s ideas in life. We learn a lot from his free thinking and fearless leadership. Nehru’s greatest work as a politician was to develop democratic values in the Indian political system and establish democracy in India. Nehru was a strong proponent of the theory and practice of parliamentary democracy. He used to say that citizenship lies in the service of the country. Ignorance always fears change. He believed that failure comes only when we forget our ideals, aims and principles.

Now I would like to finish my speech. Thank you all very much for listening to my thoughts on Children’s Day and Chacha Nehru.

May Mother India live forever. Jai Hind. Victory of India.
