Read on the application
Delhi Nursery Admission 2024-25: 20 percent of the seats reserved for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students during the academic session 2023-24 in private schools in the capital are vacant. This is the situation when a total of 35 thousand 186 seats have been marked in the EWS category for this session. A total of 2.09 lakh applications were received for this.
A draw was made three times till June 2023 by the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi, but these seats could not be filled. Questions were also asked of the government on the entry of EWS quota in the Delhi Assembly on Friday. Every year from 2018-19 to 2023-24, 20-30 percent of EWS quota seats have no admissions, while if we talk about applications, 3-4 children are queuing for one seat. For 9994 seats in 2022-23, there was no entry on these seats for more than 10 thousand seats in 2021-22.
Not taking admission: Atishi
Education Minister Atishi said that the entire process of EWS quota admission is online. Many good schools receive large numbers of applications. Some schools have very few applications. Many times parents don’t enroll their children in those private schools even after names appear in the draw.
What is Aadhaar: Bidhuri
Leader of Opposition Ramveer Singh Bidhuri raised questions about low entry in EWS seats. He said that there were more than 50 thousand seats in EWS quota in the year 2018-19. On what basis was it reduced to 35 thousand rupees? Even after this, about 2 lakh applications have come for 35 thousand seats.
