According to the information received from the department, a decision on release of grant will be taken after reviewing all the information provided by the colleges. It may be noted that no grant has been released to these institutions since the academic session 2013-16. First the grant amount is to be announced for the session 2014-17. The number of such degree colleges in the state is 230.
Due to sluggish attitude of universities the issue of allocation of grant money remained pending. Arrangements have been made to complete other procedures including online application for grants to degree colleges. Training was also given to the university employees in this regard. So that there is no difficulty in getting the grant proposal. Even after this no recommendation could be made.
The grant will be spent on salaries:
