Let us tell you that starkids like Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, late actress Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda are making their debut from the upcoming film ‘The Archies’. Ahead of the film’s release, Zoya has said whether there is any pressure to launch these star kids or not. Along with this he has replied to his accusers saying that he has cast all the actors in the film based on their merit.
The three stars looked perfect in the audition
Talking to India Today, Zoya Akhtar said that these things crossed her mind too, but then she realized that she shouldn’t have thought like that. He said he watched all three actors audition and found them perfect for the characters. She says she could have cast anyone, but chose who she thought was best for ‘The Archies’. Zoya said, ‘I see seven children in the poster, which I find exciting. Netflix and Tiger Baby Productions featured seven kids on the poster, but the media talks about only three (Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda), then turns to us and asks about nepotism. Actually, you guys don’t pay attention to the other four. You have taken away their special moments. Sad to see this.
Actors are selected based on merit
Zoya continued, ‘It would have been very strange if I hadn’t cast him. It is wrong not to cast someone because they are not famous and it is equally wrong not to cast someone because their parents are famous. I have selected the actors according to their merits. You can’t deny that they deserve it. At the end of the day I also take care of my film.
