The Bengal CM asserted, “The proposed changes will also affect the public. I hope that considering the sensitivity of the subject, you will try to build consensus among all stakeholders on the proposed bills, and not just pass them.” Mamata alleged that the law could be used against political opponents.

Mamata Banerjee’s letter before the start of the Parliament session is also significant from this point of view, as she had earlier also expressed her disagreement with the Center over changes in the Border Security Force (BSF) law.
