England vs West Indies: The West Indies squad for the 3-match ODI series against England has been announced. The series between England and West Indies will start from December 3. Shai Hope will captain the West Indies for the series while Alzari Joseph will be the vice-captain. Once again, Darren Bravo, who has been in great form, has not been selected. Soon after this, former West Indies and Chennai Super Kings player and Darren Bravo’s brother Dwayne Bravo took to social media to question the selectors’ decision. Let us tell you that Darren Bravo recently performed brilliantly in the 50 over domestic tournament, scoring 616 runs in 8 innings at an average of over 80.

Questions raised on the Chief Selector
Former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder and Darren Bravo’s brother Dwayne Bravo has hit out at chief selector Desmond Haynes, alleging that the cricket system in the West Indies has once again failed. Dwayne Bravo has urged for transparency with the criteria for players in team selection and said he expects better things after Darren Sammy took over as West Indies head coach earlier this year. Dwayne Bravo wrote, “I am not surprised that my brother was not selected but the recent changes in West Indies cricket management make me less hopeful for the best.”

The system failed again
He further wrote, “I could not understand what was the selection criteria in the team. It cannot be based on performance alone. In two seasons my brother showed extraordinary talent. He scored over 400 runs at an average of 83.2 and a strike rate of 93 in the recent tournament. I usually stay out of these discussions but the abuse, disrespect and dishonesty towards players over the years has been such a noise when will it stop? He said that people like Darren Sammy and the new Director of Cricket were expected to believe in the system but the system is still failing.

Dwayne Bravo further wrote, “This too shall pass for my brother. Keep your head up, stay focused and trust in the Almighty. And, as always, my best wishes to the team and the selected players. Good to see Otley and Rutherford back in the team. Good luck guys.”
