New Delhi. After Anmolpreet Singh’s explosive century, fast bowler Arshdeep Singh’s lethal bowling helped Punjab beat Baroda by 20 runs in a thrilling match to win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023 for the first time and claim the title. Anmolpreet Singh was named player of the match for his century while Abhishek Sharma was named player of the tournament.

Chasing the target of 224 runs given by Punjab, the Baroda team could only score 203 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Even captain Krunal Pandya could not lead the team to victory. He played an innings of 45 runs in 32 balls. In the title match played at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Arshdeep Singh took the highest 4 wickets by giving 23 runs in the quota of 4 overs. Baroda did not start well. He lost his first wicket for 5 runs. Abhimanyu Singh was dismissed for 61 runs while Ninad played an innings of 47 runs.

Wicketkeeper Vishnu Solanki played an innings of 28 runs. Earlier, Punjab scored 223 runs for 4 on the basis of Anmolpreet Singh’s century and Nehal Vadhera’s half-century. Anmolpreet Singh scored 113 runs in 61 balls with the help of 10 fours and 6 sixes. Vadhera scored an unbeaten 61 off 27 balls. Captain Mandeep Singh was dismissed after scoring 32 runs.
