A lot of girls were auditioning for ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. I gave too. I didn’t think I would be selected. Because it was a very long and difficult process. But, I was chosen. I heard that the producers chose me at the last moment. I am very happy.
You play Akshara and Abhinav’s daughter Abhira. People are not liking this. They are talking about boycotting the show. What do you have to say about this?
Sometimes not all members of our family agree on the same thing. They get angry for a while but get back together because of love. I think viewers also love this show so much that they can’t stay away from it. Indeed, the promo has been well received. But, we will gradually explain to those who are angry.
How did your parents react when they came to know that you will be seen in the lead role in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’?
I was seven-eight years old when ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ started. Since then my mother has been watching this show. But, she never thought that I will become the lead actress of this show. He is very happy.
Tell us something about yourself that is important for the audience to know?
I never give up. Not that I don’t get frustrated. I get discouraged, I have problems in my life but I don’t give up. My father always said that one should never compete with others. You must always compete with your past.
Have you met Abhinav Sharma (Jay Soni, the actor who plays him)?
No, I have not met Jay Soni. But, the makers are planning a get-together. I have heard a lot about them. Everyone says he is a very good person.
Did you watch ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’?
Yes, I used to watch ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. Couldn’t watch every episode. But, one knew what was going on in the serial.
