According to information provided by the Palestinian Authority, 290 Palestinians have been killed so far in attacks in the West Bank since October 7. Palestinians have died either as a result of attacks by the Israeli army or as a result of violence by Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Palestine alleges that civilians are being targeted by Israel.
On the other hand, Israel claims that the attacks are targeting members affiliated with Hamas. Regarding the incident, the Israeli military spokesman said that a group of terrorists opened fire and threw explosives targeting the IDF. Following this, in retaliation, an air strike was carried out by Israel in which at least four militants were killed. Four have also been arrested.
The West Bank has been occupied by Israel since the 1967 Arab-Israeli War. Following the October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel, Israel has been conducting military operations in Gaza as well as the West Bank. The Hamas attack killed 1,200 Israelis and took more than 240 hostages in Gaza. On the other hand, according to Hamas statistics, 19 thousand people have been killed so far in the Israeli attack in Gaza. However, Israel calls this an exaggerated figure and also says that a large number of those killed are Hamas-affiliated.
But the world’s major countries have begun to speak out against the high number of deaths caused by Israel’s attack on Gaza and are pressuring Israel to stop the war. The deaths in the West Bank are also a matter of concern for everyone.
