Melbourne. The failure of the Indian cricket team to win the ICC trophy is being discussed around the world. Former England captain Michael Vaughan on Friday said that the Indian cricket team could not achieve results based on its talent and available resources. Vaughan said that India has not won a single ICC trophy in the last decade due to which their performance has not been special.
During the ‘Fox Sports’ panel discussion during the second Test between Australia and Pakistan at the MCG, Vaughan opened the conversation on the Indian team by asking a question to former Australia batsman Mark Vaughan. Von Von asked, “Do you think India is one of the under-achieving teams in the world in terms of cricket?”
But Waugh turned the question to Vaughn. To which Vaughan said, “He hasn’t won much lately.” I think their team is an underachieving team. They don’t win anything. When was the last time they won a tournament? With the talent and skill he has, he should achieve more.
Vaughan admitted that India’s efforts to win the series in Australia were brilliant but the team has failed to perform well in the World Cup. He said, “They won twice in Australia in 2018-19 and 2020-21, which is great. But in the last few World Cups, they are nowhere, in the last few T20 World Cups, they are nowhere.
Vaughn said that India should achieve much more than what it has achieved in terms of talent. “Their team is good,” he said. They have a lot of talent but they could not win according to the talent and resources they have.
