Israel-Hamas deal for release of hostages

According to Israeli media, the agreement focuses primarily on women and children held hostage, although talks on the release of foreign hostages are not currently on the table. Earlier, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said in a release, “As part of developments on the issue of releasing our hostages, PM Benjamin Netanyahu will convene a meeting of the War Cabinet today at 6 p.m., the Security Cabinet at 7 p.m. and the Government at 8 p.m.”

Let us tell you that the Hamas terrorist group attacked on October 7 and took about 240 Israelis hostage, including about 40 children, the elderly and dozens of Thai and Nepali citizens. The Times of Israel quoted Channel 12 as saying that the deal to release the hostages also included the release of about 150 to 300 Palestinian prisoners, including women and minors.

Release of hostages may begin soon – report

Channel 12 was quoted as saying that the release of the hostages could begin on Thursday or Friday. According to reports, the ceasefire may be extended to allow the release of more hostages after the initial 50. Now news has emerged that the moratorium on the fight will continue for 4 days. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said his country would need to make “difficult decisions” in the case of people held hostage by the Hamas terror group in the Gaza Strip.

The Washington Post previously approved the deal

Let us tell you that a Washington Post report on November 19 said that fighting in Gaza would cease for the next five days under a temporary agreement reached between Israel, the US and Hamas to free dozens of hostages (Israel. Gaza War). But shortly after, PM Benjamin Netanyahu put a full stop to the cease-fire news. A Washington Post report said that a six-page memorandum was signed under the deal. Under the agreement, both sides would cease fighting for the next five days and release 50 or more hostages every 24 hours. But after the news, PM Benjamin Netanyahu said that no ceasefire agreement had yet been reached in exchange for the release of the hostages. But an agreement to release the hostages has now been sealed, according to AFP.
