Today he has completed 40 years of his commentary career. Bhogle shared the story of his journey in a post on X. He explained how he got his first break in commentary.
Harsha Bhogle has shared an age-old invitation slip from Doordarshan on his X account. He captioned it, “40 years ago today, my first ODI. Even today I remember that young man trying hard to find an opportunity. Then a good producer from DD-Hyderabad gave him this opportunity. The evening before the match, in a plain T-shirt, he was lifting the curtain and the next day he got two commentary jobs. In the next 14 months I got the opportunity to commentate in two (ODIs and one Test match). Will always be grateful for this. “
