Sonal Goyal hails from Panipat, Haryana, but did her schooling in Delhi. After 12th standard, Sonal graduated from Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce and also obtained a CS degree from Delhi.
Sonal said that first they UPSC He didn’t even know about the civil services exam, but after reading an article on civil servants in a magazine, he decided to become an IAS officer.
“When I told my family about my decision to become an IAS officer during my CS studies, my father didn’t want me to prepare for UPSC,” said Sonal Goyal.
Sonal said, “My father knew that the UPSC exam was one of the toughest exams. Even though he knew I was bright, he said that if I wanted to take the exam, I should have a plan B ready as well.”
Sonal Goyal knew about her abilities, so she decided to take the UPSC exam. During this time, he started his LLB course at Delhi University. Now it was not worth leaving the course midway, so along with studying for job and LLB, he continued to prepare for the Sonal UPSC exam.
In the year 2006, he appeared for the first time in the UPSC examination, in which he did not succeed. He was sad about not passing the exam, but he did not give up and decided to take the exam a second time. In the year 2007 appeared the exam for the second time and managed to become IAS by securing 13th rank in all India.
Talking to the media, Sonal said that he believes that two attempts are enough for the UPSC Civil Services exam.
