It seems that IIT Bombay’s campus placement season will remain unaffected due to the global economic slowdown. IIT Bombay, which has become the first choice of JEE Advanced toppers for engineering, is expected to get a salary package of over crores this time too. However, the number of companies that came for placement in IIT institutes last year will not come this time. However, a student hoping for a good placement says that the number of companies has reduced a lot. The final year student said that this time companies like Da Vinci Derivatives, Hudson River Trading, Glynn Technologies, Barclays are going to offer jobs with crore plus package.
According to a Times of India report, it is being said that Da Vinci Derivatives will offer a package of Rs 1.3 crore for the job in India. While Hudson River Trading will offer an international job offer worth 2 lakh Singapore dollars (Rs 1.24 crore). Glynn Technologies will also offer 125000 US dollars (1.04 lakh) for overseas jobs. Hudson Trading Company, a quantitative trading company, is coming to IIT Bombay and other IIT institutes for campus placement for the first time. This company will offer jobs to IITians for Singapore.
Whether companies select students from campus or not depends on the details in the job application form Salary package details. Students will be selected on the basis of placement interview starting from 1st December.
Jane Street Capital, which offered the highest package (Rs 3.7 crore) to IIT Bombay last year, will also be coming to IIT Bombay this time. A student said, ‘The general stream usually recruits students through internships.’

For Hong Kong, giant Barclays is offering 11 lakh Hong Kong dollar (1.17 crore) jobs. Graviton Research Capital, Kwadayi, NK Securities will give good offer for jobs in the country itself. This will have profiles of traders, quantitative researchers, developers. Microsoft and Apple will also come to the campus. So far they have invited applications for jobs in India only.
Companies moving to the Powai campus will also come here this time. Apart from this, many new companies are also knocking. There are some who are coming only for IIT Bombay.
Last year 384 companies came to IIT Bombay for campus placement. 1516 students were placed. Best job package in India Rs. 1.7 crore and the best package for overseas job was Rs. 3.7 crore was 16 crores more was offered. The average salary was Rs 21.8 lakh. 65 international offers were accepted.
