Former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim, who recently retired from international cricket, has entered a special club. Imad Wasim has achieved a new milestone in T20 cricket by taking 1000 runs and 50 wickets in a calendar year. Along with his compatriot Azhar Mahmood, he became the fourth cricketer in the world after former West Indies all-rounders Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell. Imad Wasim is currently playing in the Big Bash League.
Imad Wasim completed 1000 runs in T20 cricket in the year 2023 and also took 50 wickets. Thus, the 35-year-old is the first player since 2016 to achieve this feat. Kieron Pollard achieved this feat in 2010, Azhar Mahmood in 2012 and Andre Russell in 2016. Emad, who made his debut for Melbourne Stars in the 13th season of the BBPL, achieved this milestone by scoring 14 runs off 10 balls.
The all-rounder announced his retirement from international cricket last month, ending his more than eight-year association with the national team. While announcing his retirement, he said that it was the right time to end his tenure as an international cricketer. He thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board. He was not part of the team for several months.

Imad made his international debut against Zimbabwe in May 2015 and has represented Pakistan in 55 ODIs and 66 T20 Internationals. He took 109 wickets and scored 1472 runs in his international career. Imad was a key member of the Pakistan team for many years and was part of the 2017 Champions Trophy winning team. He also played in 2016 T20 World Cup, 2019 World Cup and 2021 T20 World Cup.
