India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul has said on the eve of the ODI series against South Africa that Sanju Samson will bat in the middle order. According to Rahul, Sanju Samson will bat at the fifth or sixth position. The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa will be played on Sunday (December 17). Rahul has confirmed that Rinku Singh may also get a chance in the ODI series. Rinku performed strongly in the T20 series against Australia and South Africa.
“Yes, I am also wondering whether (Rinku will play at 6 o’clock),” KL Rahul said at the prematch press conference ahead of the first ODI. He has shown what a good player he is. We have seen in IPL that he is very skilled. But the best thing is the understanding of the game he has shown in the T20 series. Yes, he will get a chance in the ODI series.
KL Rahul said that he is ready to play wicketkeeping and batting in the middle order for the Indian team in all three formats. He said, “I will be wicketkeeping and batting in the middle order in the ODI series. I am ready to do whatever the captain and management want in the Test series. Yes, I definitely want to play for my country in T20 Internationals.
