The first match of the two-match Test series between India and South Africa is being played at Centurion. South African captain Temba Bavuma has won the toss and elected to bowl first in the first match. The toss was delayed by 45 minutes while the match started half an hour late as the ground was wet due to incessant rain. The famous Krishna is making his debut for India. During the toss, Rohit Sharma informed that Ravindra Jadeja is not available for selection due to back strain.

While sharing the playing XI, BCCI has given an update on the injury of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. According to him, Ravindra Jadeja complained of upper back strain on the morning of the match, due to which he was not available for selection. R Ashwin has got a chance to play in his place.

South African captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bowl first. Bavuma said he wanted to take advantage of the early moisture on the pitch. Two players in the South African team are fast bowler Andre Berger and middle order batsman David Bedingham who are making their Test debut.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said he was confused about what decision to make after winning the toss. He is happy that he lost the toss. Ravindra sticks in Jadeja’s back.
