The Indian team got off to a flying start in the FIH Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup by beating Canada 12-0. For India, Mumtaz Khan scored four goals (26th, 41st, 54th and 60th), Annu (4th, 6th, 39th) and Deepika Soreng (34th, 50th and 54th) scored three goals each. Dippy Monica Topo scored in the 21st minute and Neelam in the 45th minute.

While Neelam converted the penalty into a goal to increase India’s lead to 8-0. Deepika and Mumtaz scored goals in the last quarter. India will face Germany on Friday.
