India will not compromise with terrorism
Government sources said India’s decision on the resolution was based on its consistent policies on the issue. Referring to the attack on Israel by Hamas, sources said that India has made it clear that there will be no compromise on the issue of terrorism. Clarifying the New Delhi vote, India’s Deputy Permanent Representative Yojana Patel said that our sympathies are with the hostages as well. We call for their immediate and unconditional release.
He said that India has always believed in the two-nation principle through negotiations on the Israel-Palestine issue. To establish a sovereign, independent and viable State of Palestine living peacefully with Israel within secure and recognized borders. Immediately after the October 7 attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the attack by Hamas a “terrorist” act. India condemned the incident. India has always had good relations with Israel.
India did not participate in the voting in the previous proposal
The resolution comes just weeks after a UN resolution called for an “immediate, sustainable and permanent ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. India abstained from voting on that resolution. It is noteworthy that more than 10 thousand people have been killed so far in the ongoing war between the two countries. The war started after Hamas attacked Israel.
