New Delhi: The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas shows no signs of abating. At present the world is divided into two distinct parts. Many countries are standing in support of Israel while many countries are in support of Hamas fighting on behalf of Palestine. Iran, which has been supporting Hamas since the beginning of the war, has appealed to the Indian government this time. Iranian President and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the Israel-Hamas war.
Meanwhile, he told PM Modi that India should use all its capabilities to end Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip. In a press release on Tuesday, the Indian government said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi discussed the Israel-Hamas war. An Iranian readout said Raisi discussed India’s struggles against Western colonialism and recalled India’s status as one of the founders of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in the world.
“Today, India is expected to use all its capabilities to end Zionist crimes against the oppressed people of Gaza,” the Iranian readout said. According to Iran’s readout, Iranian President Raisi told PM Modi, “People of all the free countries of the world are angry because of the continuous killing of the Palestinian people.”
The Iranian president also said that Tehran supports any global joint effort for an immediate ceasefire. He said any move to provide aid to the people of Gaza was welcome and encouraged the lifting of the blockade. Raisi condemned Israel and alleged that innocent women and children were killed in airstrikes targeting hospitals, schools, mosques, churches and residential areas. He said the action was “reprehensible and unacceptable” from a humanitarian point of view.
