Israel Hamas War: Israeli ground and air forces have begun attacking selected targets of the terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Israel’s military said on Friday that its ground forces had recently carried out strikes in Gaza with the help of fighter planes and drones. The army had been preparing for the ground attack for the past several days. “IDF ground forces, along with fighter jets and UAVs, launched an attack in the central Gaza Strip,” an army statement said.

The statement also said, “The IDF identified and struck several terrorist targets, including anti-tank missile launch sites, military command and control centers, as well as Hamas militants.” He said the soldiers returned from their area after the attack.

The army last night launched a similar ground operation in the northern part of the Palestinian territories using tanks and ground troops. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently said that his country is fighting for its survival and that preparations are being made for a ground offensive in Gaza and that ‘the death of all members of Hamas is imminent.’ In an address to the nation on Wednesday evening, he said the two main goals of the war were to “destroy Hamas by destroying its military and governance capabilities and to take every possible step to bring home our hostages”.
