For this reason, Tulsi plants are planted in homes and Tulsi is worshipped. Tulsi can be worshiped in Kharmas like other months. A lamp can be lit in front of Tulsi while worshiping Tulsi. It is said that lighting a ghee lamp on Tulsi is auspicious.
According to belief, Tulsi mother is dear to Lord Vishnu. That is why Tulsi can be specially included in the worship of Lord Vishnu. It is auspicious to include Tulsi mass in the worship of Lord Vishnu. Tulsi dal can also be used in Ekadashi worship and Tulsi can be added to it while offering Ekadashi.
In the month of Kharmas, it is said that while worshiping the basil plant (tulsi pooja), one should avoid touching the plant. This is believed to pollute the plant and is considered inauspicious. It is also not auspicious to break basil leaves while worshiping.
