Former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard will join England’s coaching staff for next year’s T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and America. England and Wales Cricket (ECB) announced this on Sunday. Pollard retired from all formats of cricket in April 2022. He was part of the West Indies team that won the 2012 T20 World Cup. He has played 637 T20 matches in his career.
“Former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard has been named in the England men’s coaching squad for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States,” the ECB said in a media release. Assistant coaches for the T20 World Cup and will provide information on local conditions.
Former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard has captained West Indies in 63 T20 International matches. He scored 1569 runs and took 42 wickets in 101 matches. The all-rounder was also an important part of the Mumbai Indians team that won five Indian Premier League titles under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
Although Pollard has left the Mumbai Indians team, he is still active in franchise cricket and recently led Trinbago Knight Riders to the final of the Caribbean Premier League.
