India have named KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan as wicketkeeper batsmen in their 15-member squad for the ODI World Cup 2023. Rahul has played two matches in the Asia Cup 2023 so far and has been effective with the bat as well as wicket-keeping. He played an unbeaten innings of 111 against Pakistan and took one catch. At the same time, apart from scoring 39 runs against Sri Lanka, Rahul also took two catches behind the wicket.
Amid the debate between Rahul and Ishan, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has expressed his opinion. Gambhir, who is doing the commentary in the Asia Cup, believes that Rahul will get a chance as a wicketkeeper in the World Cup starting from October 5. “I think the Indian team management has almost decided that,” Gambhir said on Star Sports KL Rahul Will keep wicket in the World Cup. Regarding the number-5 position in the team, Gambhir said that there are many contenders for this position.
