Due to continuous rain in Nagpur areas since 2 am, large amount of water has accumulated in the low lying areas of the city. The Ambazari lake has overflowed and the disaster management teams of the district and metropolitan administrations are working. Collector and Municipal Corporation Commissioner inspected several areas of the city this morning. The Disaster Management Department is closely monitoring the situation in the city and district. All District Schools (District and Metropolitan Area) Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar has declared a holiday today.

Devendra Fadnavis has directed Nagpur Collector, Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Police Commissioner to immediately activate several teams to rescue the stranded people at several places. Teams of NDRF and SDRF are also being deployed.
