Hardik Pandya: Ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians shocked the fans and handed over the captaincy of the team to Hardik Pandya. Hardik Pandya has previously captained Gujarat Titans in IPL and won the title, along with this, Hardik has also captained Team India in T20. Earlier, Hardik Pandya (Hardik Pandya Captain MI IPL 2024) returned to his home Mumbai Indians after a formal announcement with Gujarat Titans. Gujarat Titans named their IPL winning captain in the retention list, which was quite a surprise. After Hardik’s trade off was completed, the deal became formal and he became an MI player.

Pandya has a huge responsibility as MI’s new captain, as Rohit has led the franchise to five IPL titles. In 31 matches for GT from 2022–23, Pandya scored 833 runs at an average of 37.86 and a strike rate of over 133, with six half-centuries and a best score of 87*. He also took 11 wickets for the team, with his best figures being 3/17.

Pandya also played 92 matches for MI from 2015–2021, scoring 1,476 runs at an average of 27.33 and a strike rate of over 153, with four half-centuries and a best score of 91. He also took 42 wickets for the team. Best bowling figures 3/20. Pandya has won five IPL trophies, four with MI (2015, 2017, 2019, 2020) and GT (2022).
