His mother Anjum Ara’s health deteriorated on the day of the World Cup final (November 19). His fever had increased since morning and he had to be admitted to the hospital as his health deteriorated.
Let us tell you that Shami’s family lives in Sahaspur village of Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh. After meeting his mother, Shami expressed his feelings on social media platform ‘X’. Shami shared a picture in which he is seen hugging his mother. “You mean a lot to me,” she captioned the photo. Hope you feel better soon.” Fans have been showering love on Shami’s post and praying for her mother’s speedy full recovery. One user commented, “Shami bhai stay strong. Aunty will get well soon.”
Shami bowled killer in the World Cup. He had to sit out the first four matches but impressed in the next seven matches. He had a total of 24 kills. He topped the list of bowlers who took the most wickets in the tournament. It is worth mentioning that India entered the final by winning 10 matches in a row, but the Rohit brigade could not defeat Australia. India lost the title match by 6 wickets. Australia won the ODI World Cup trophy for the sixth time.
