Mohammad Siraj creates history, becomes fastest bowler to take 5 wickets, equals Shami

Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj bowled a killer against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final on Sunday. He took five catches in just two overs. Siraj took four wickets in just one over. He has created a great history with his strong performance. He became the joint fastest bowler to take 5 wickets in ODI history. Siraj guided 5 players to Sri Lanka’s pavilion in just 16 balls. Earlier this feat was done by Chaminda Vas of Sri Lanka. Vas took 5 wickets in 16 balls against Bangladesh in 2003.

Siraj had opener Pathum Nisanka (2) caught by Ravindra Jadeja on the first ball of the fourth over of the innings against Sri Lanka. Sadira Samarawickrama (0) was out lbw on the third ball. Charith Aslanka (0) was caught by Ishan Kishan on the fourth ball and Dhananjay D’Silva (4) was caught behind the wicket on the last ball. KL Rahul got caught Siraj then bowled Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka (0) on the fourth ball of the sixth over. Let us tell you that Siraj is the first Indian bowler to take 4 wickets in an over in international cricket.

Siraj also completed 50 catches and one catch in ODI cricket during this period dash List entered. He has moved to joint fourth place in the list of fastest Indian bowlers to take 50 ODI wickets.
