One of Bollywood’s veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah recently came into the limelight when he claimed that he was disturbed to see films like ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘Gadar 2’ becoming huge hits. When the matter escalated, ‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri reacted to the debate and said that perhaps Naseeruddin Sahab has come to know the ‘truth’ of his last film. Vivek Agnihotri also said that perhaps the veteran ACTC prefers to support terrorists. Now Nana Patekar has hit back in this matter and has replied to Naseeruddin Shah.

What does nationalism mean to them?
Talking to ETime, Nana Patekar said, I do not agree with Naseer at all. ‘You asked Nasir what nationalism meant to him? According to me showing love for nation is nationalism and not a bad thing.
‘Whatever the film is, the content will be the same’
He further said, ‘The kind of film Gadar is, it will have one type of content and I haven’t seen ‘The Kerala Story’, so I can’t comment on it.” Nana Patekar further said that should I talk to Naseer about the issues of all the films that Naseer has worked in? Whenever I shoot, I know my subject.
Making money in the name of nationalism is wrong.
Nana Patekar went on to say that making money by doing big deals in the name of nationalism is wrong. Movies should be shown as they are, if there is a documentary then show the documentary. When we make a film on a true story, everything should be shown correctly, otherwise if it is shown wrongly, people will question how it was wrongly shown?
