Chirag Sen: After living in the shadow of his talented younger brother Lakshya Sen, Chirag Sen finally managed to win the men’s singles title at the Senior National Championship and said the achievement would propel him to achieve success at the international level. Lakshya Sen had never won a national championship but his elder brother Chirag won the national title by beating fourth seed M Tharun 21-14 13-21 21-9 in the final in Guwahati on Sunday. “This (National Championship) title came a little late but in the end I am very happy with this win,” Chirag, who won the Kenya International Challenge 2020 title, told PTI.

Chirag said, “During the camp in Denmark, I went with him as a colleague and my confidence grew a lot there. I realized that I can beat even the top 30 players in the world and for this I have to perform well in matches.” While Chirag won the national championship title, Lakshya lost to Bharat Raghav in the quarterfinals. Chirag said, “He kept waiting for my final match. He and my father kept encouraging me during the semi finals and finals. This inspired me and helped me a lot.
