Nawaz Sharif said, “Our neighbors have reached the moon but we are yet to even get off the ground. Can’t go on like this.” “We are responsible for our own downfall, otherwise this country would have reached a different place,” he said.
Nawaz Sharif, who is contesting for the post of Prime Minister of Pakistan for the fourth time, said in his address on Wednesday that, in 2013, we were facing a large-scale power cut. We came and ended it, ended terrorism from across the country, restored peace in Karachi, built highways, CPEC came and a new era of development and prosperity began.”
According to ARY News, Nawaz Sharif said that he was removed from power three times in 1993, 1999 and 2017.
Asked who should now be held responsible for the current crisis in Pakistan, Sharif said, “We have shot ourselves in the foot.” The PML-N supremo said that inflation was low during his government in 2014 and a loaf of bread cost two Pakistani rupees (PKR) in Islamabad’s Abpara, which has now gone up to PKR 30.
Sharif claimed that ‘fake cases’ were registered against Maryam and other PML-N leaders. The Islamabad High Court had dismissed the convictions in two cases in just three hearings.
Nawaz Sharif called upon the people of Pakistan to give priority to the development of women if they want to develop the country. He said, “Any country that has developed has prioritized women in development, it has brought women forward for development. I think women have to be equal partners in development. Women should also be given equal rights with men. We should give women equal rights. Gotta give. Go ahead and serve this country.
According to a report by The News International, Nawaz Sharif recently reiterated his demand for accountability of those responsible for removing him as the country’s prime minister in 2017. Speaking at the PML-N Parliamentary Board meeting in Lahore, Nawaz said he was not interested in revenge, but expressed the need to hold those responsible for his ouster accountable.
“I have no right to pardon people who are enemies,” he said, calling for the names of the conspirators to be released, The News International reported.
