The National Medical Commission may soon reduce the NEET PG cutoff to 2023. In fact, the IMA and the Federation of Resident Doctors Association have already demanded a revision in the NEET PG cutoff criteria last month. The association demanded to reduce the cutoff by 30 percent. In fact, the cutoff of NEET PG has increased significantly this time, due to which more MBBS seats should be filled and maximum seats should be filled till the end of counselling, IMA demanded of the current NEET. Cutoff should be lowered.
Let us inform you that at this time NMC has not declared the result of Round-3 NEET PG Counseling, which was supposed to be declared on 16th September. According to IMA, by reducing the cutoff percentile by 30 percent, most of the seats in both clinical and non-clinical branches can be filled. Let us tell you that NEET PG cutoff percentile is 50 for general category, 45 for PWD, 40 for reserved category. While talking to the Indian Express website, the NMC member said that lowering the NEET PG cutoff will not lower the standard of medical education nor will it compromise the service. He said that the MBBS curriculum has been designed in such a way that it can meet the medical needs of the country.
Let us tell you that around 2.9 lakh students had registered for NEET PG this year, NEET PG offers admission to MD, MS, DNB, Diploma courses, but this time the cutoff was significantly increased.
