No answer to Jadeja’s spin… 27 year old WC record broken

Highlights

Ravindra Jadeja achieved a big feat by taking 2 wickets
Jadeja is doing brilliantly in the current World Cup

New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja did not get a chance to bat against Netherlands in the last league match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, but he did wonders with the bowling. Jadeja showed the way to the pavilion for two players from the Dutch team with left-arm orthodox spin bowling. Meanwhile, he broke the 27-year-old Indian record and registered a big achievement in his name. The Indian team managed to win this match by 160 runs. Now Team India will face New Zealand in the semi-final on November 15. This match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Ravindra Jadeja bowled Netherlands opener Max O’Dowd to give India a big win. After this he gave the eighth blow to the opposing team by having Roelf van Merwe caught by Shami. Jadeja has become the Indian spinner who has taken the most wickets in a single edition of the World Cup. He has surpassed legendary leg-spinner Anil Kumble, who took 15 wickets in the 1996 World Cup 27 years ago. Jadeja has taken 16 wickets in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. This is the best performance by an Indian spinner in a World Cup.

Anil Kumble has slipped to the second position
Anil Kumble has now slipped to the second spot in the list while Yuvraj Singh is third with 15 wickets. UV took 11 wickets in the 2011 World Cup, while Kuldeep Yadav and Maninder Singh are tied for fourth and fifth with 14 wickets respectively. Kuldeep has so far taken 14 wickets in this World Cup while Maninder took 14 wickets in the 1987 World Cup.

India are 2 wins away from equaling Australia’s great record
India has reached the second position in terms of winning the most consecutive matches in a single World Cup. Team India is unbeaten in the current World Cup. They registered their ninth consecutive win by defeating the Netherlands. Australia holds the record for winning the most matches in a single World Cup without losing a single match. Australia won 11 consecutive matches in the 2003 and 2007 World Cups. Team India is just 2 wins away from a match against Australia. If India wins the semi-final and the final, they will equal this great record of Australia.
